You can advocate for us at your organization, company, school, church, online to family & friends, through social media, events in your area or you can invite us out to make a multimedia presentation or to set up a booth. To Volunteer: Individuals who are at least 18 years old can request a volunteer application and apply with electronically by e-mailing us here. You can also fill out a volunteer application in person at 445 S. San Joaquin St. Stockton, CA 95203 to be considered for any of the following volunteer opportunities:

 

MEAL PREPERATION AND SERVING:
Preparing and serving a meal is a very meaningful experience. It brings you and the recipient face to face in an exchange that is mutually beneficial. You may participate in the preparation and serving of the meal as an individual or as a group of up to 6. Participants should plan to arrive at 11:00 a.m. and stay until 1:00 p.m. any week day for lunch service and/or at 4:15 p.m. and stay until 6:30 p.m. any day of the week for dinner service. Participants are welcome to provide some or all of the food served.

 

NEW HOPE FAMILY SHELTER:
Child care may be provided by individuals or groups that pass routine criminal background checks (at their expense). Activities for children may be provided by individuals or groups of up to 4 any time between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Great for church groups!

 

CHAPEL SERVICES:
Evening chapel services are provided on by groups from local churches. Chapel services occur seven nights a week, three hundred and sixty five days each year between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Diversity in presentation of the Gospel is encouraged. The Rescue Mission staff are always open to useful ideas concerning format, presentation and ways to comfortably conduct an evening chapel service. Chapel Guidelines are linked here.

 

HOLIDAY MEALS:
Family and group participation in preparing or serving holiday meals is encouraged and facilitated around every holiday. Participation teams of up to 6 individuals should be planned and scheduled several weeks in advance since there are a limited number of opportunities and there are many people who look forward to this opportunity each holiday.

 

WORK PROJECTS:
There are ongoing needs and opportunities for groups of any size to participate in cleanup, fix-up kinds of projects. This a great opportunity for community service groups, employee 'team building' exercises and leadership clubs. Great for teen groups!

 

 

HOPE LEARNING CENTER: Individuals and groups of up to 4 can tutor men & women on computer use and basic skills programs between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Great for retired educators!

 

ADMINISTRATION: Graphic design, video production, office assistance, event planning, fundraising and other opportunities for your specific skill set. Hours for these opportunities vary. Great college or university students and class projects! Please contact us here for details.
