New Life Program

The New Life Program, Men's Component is a 24 bed, residential, drug and alcohol addiction treatment program located at the Gospel Center Rescue Mission, Inc. The applicant must make a six month commitment with the possibility of an additional six months of after-care.

The men served by the program are those most likley to benefit from an intensive, residential treatment. NLP strongly believes that the whole person, including spiritual aspects, family, community and environment must be addressed to affect a long-term life style change.

A typical day in the life of a client in the NLP includes three nutritious meals, access to clothing, a semi-private cubical space in a dormitory with as many as 24 other clients, evening chapel service, group sessions, individual counseling session, time in the computerize, adult learning center and a four hour work daily assignment. New Life Program Core Values

The program is flexible, individualized and a progressive process designed to meet the specific needs of each client in a structured and supportive environment.

The New Life Program offers the following:

  1. A structured educational program dealing with emotional and spiritual issues.
     
  2. Individual counseling and group sessions in an individualized plan for change.
     
  3. Increased awareness of self-defeating behaviors with increased self-awareness and self-esteem.
     
  4. Addresses social issues, interpersonal relationships and   methods for promoting healthy communications and   accountability.
     
  5. Explores concepts of spirituality and the benefits of incorporating spiritual principles into a lifelong program through daily personal application of spiritual materials, affirmations, prayer and meditation.
     
  6. Introduction and orientation to individuals goal and direction.
     
  7. Introduction and referral to community resources.
     
  8. Introduction and referral to support groups such as AA, NA, CA and a 12-step program. Family contact permitted after 60 days.
     
  9. After care and follow-up counseling is available as needed.
     
  10. Educational computer program for GED and other programs.
